Sleep Calculator¶
The Sleep Calculator is a feature inside the Smart Wake screen. Instead of setting a wake-up time manually, you tap a cycle count and it calculates when you would wake up if you go to sleep now.
How it works¶
Sleep cycles are approximately 90 minutes each. The calculation is:
(Number of cycles x 90 minutes) + Fall Asleep Time = total sleep time
The calculator adds this total to the current time to determine your wake-up time.
Fall Asleep Time is the buffer it adds for the time it takes you to actually fall asleep. You can configure this in Smart Wake's Advanced Settings: 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes (default: 30 minutes).
Example: 5 cycles = 7 hours 30 minutes of sleep + 30 minutes to fall asleep = 8 hours total. If it's currently 11:00 PM, your alarm would be set for 7:00 AM.
Sleep cycles guide¶
- 5-6 cycles (green): Ideal for most people. You will wake up feeling your best.
- 4 or 7 cycles (yellow): Acceptable when needed, but not optimal.
- 3 or fewer cycles (red): Not recommended for overall health and energy.
Why this helps¶
Waking up at the end of a sleep cycle helps you feel lighter, clearer, and more refreshed. If you wake up in the middle of a cycle, you are more likely to feel groggy. The Sleep Calculator takes the guesswork out by aligning your alarm with your natural sleep cycles.
