Alarm issues¶
Summary ✅¶
Your alarm works when it's connected to Spotify. If your alarm failed and the back up alarm played, it's because that connection broke.
👇Check the possible reasons below👇
Most common causes¶
-
Incoming calls Spotify usually auto-resumes after calls, but sometimes can fail to do so. If you need, set a Focus mode to allow only important calls at night.
-
Internet issues Without internet, Silence cannot play and the connection cannot be kept. We do offer an offline mode, but it only plays short versions, not full songs.
-
Focus modes (Do Not Disturb, Sleep) If not configured to allow Alarmify, Focus can block your alarm.
-
Other alarms Other alarms that play before ours will break the connection, so make sure to set them to play AFTER ours.
Other causes¶
-
Using certain apps Using other audio apps (IG, YT, TikTok, sleep/meditation apps, etc) can break the connection. Learn how to use other apps with Alarmify.
-
Apps that play audio in the background Think of anything that might auto-start: scheduled Focus/Sleep, forgotten alarms, timers, or Shortcuts/automations.
-
External devices Alarmify doesn't support external devices yet, so we can't guarantee it works as expected when using earbuds, speaker, Alexa/HomePod, etc.
-
Closing Alarmify or Spotify apps Closing any of the apps will break the connection.
-
Automatic updates Automatic updates during the night restart your phone or the Alarmify app and will break the connection.
